Great Kings of England: King Charles I (2000)

Overview

Featuring historical re-creations and authoritative commentary, this comprehensive documentary explores the life and times of King Charles I, who ruled England, Scotland and Ireland from 1625 until his execution in 1649. Though Charles was a deeply religious man who loved his family, his deceit and procrastination contributed greatly to the bloodshed and loss of two English civil wars and to the monarch’s eventual downfall.
